The Conquil
It is 20 kilometres from Sarlat, between the caves of Lascaux and Les Eyzies, that you will find the prehistoric park of Le Conquil, an unusual troglodytic site, because it has been converted into a leisure park for the family. Classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, the Conquil is a 12-hectare estate along an incredible cliff. La Conquil is first and foremost a place that favours an educational approach through an instructive journey back in time to the age of the dinosaurs. During this walk, everyone can observe reconstructions of these giants from another time. Then the visit continues in the natural troglodytic habitats where everyone can observe the marks of man’s passage. In addition, activities are proposed around the history of this site occupied by man since the dawn of time (making cave paintings, making prehistoric jewellery).
The park also houses an adventure course for the whole family, offering an unusual walk in this magical place: zip lines, monkey bridges, footbridges make the visitor progress under the forest of oaks and boxwood.
